Eighteen year old Paul, his mother and his sister land on Altair-4, a recently established human colony. They expect to be reunited with Paul’s father there and start a new life, but he doesn’t show up to welcome them at the spaceport … Later, they are rescued from a gang of thugs by a Stepanerk, a member of a sentient alien species. An encounter that will prove invaluable to Paul when he decides to go to look for his father …

Key Points:
  • Published in English for the first time
  • The fertile, interplanetary imagination of the creator of Aldebaran
  • A traditional coming-of-age quest packed with adventure, action and emotion
  • A story that also asks important questions on otherness, as well as humanity's place in nature

Brazilian artist Leo is best known for his science-fiction, multi-series saga The Worlds of Aldebaran. He also created Canadian Mountie Trent as well as Kenya and its second season Namibia, all three with Rodolphe. Icar (Franck Picard), a deaf artist and colourist, studied architecture, bande-dessinée, and art at the Beaux-Arts school in Paris, before being ‘discovered’ at the 1990 Angoulême festival by Patrick Giordano, with whom he would go on to publish his first comic, Jeepster.
