The Daltons are working ... in a bank?!

Marcel Dalton is the Dalton Brothers’ Swiss uncle. He is not only honest, but a banker to boot. Having purchased a small bank in the US, he decides to hire his nephews to force them to make a honest living. Although he’s assisted by Lucky Luke, they have their work cut out for them. Especially since – as if the ingrained instincts of the four dumbest bandits in the West weren’t enough – there’s also the small matter of the competition: a very unscrupulous banker …!

Key Points:
  • Lucky Luke is one of the most famous cartoon characters, alongside Asterix and Tintin
  • Bestselling European comic series ever, with more than 300 million copies sold worldwide in over 30 languages
  • Lucky Luke comics were made into several animated cartoons. In 1991 Terence Hill directed a cinema adaptation in which he played the lead role, and in 2009 James Huth directed a new version with French comic Jean Dujardin in the lead role
  • Suitable for adults and children
  • Published in English for the first time

Born and raised in Belgium, Morris moved to the United States in 1946 for six years. There, he worked for MAD magazine and met René Goscinny, with whom he collaborated from 1955 until Goscinny’s death in 1977. After Goscinny’s death, several other writers contributed to Lucky Luke, including Bob de Groot, the well-known writer of such very successful humorous series as Robin Dubois, Léonard and Clifton, the latter published in English by Cinebook.
