1st Edition

230 x 155 mm. 339pp Heavily illustrated.... [In stock in Australia, for immediate delivery]

This set of essays, which surveys major developments in the winding down of 19th-century methods of Shakespeare staging, spans the decades from the 1880s to about 1920. The Epilogue describes the American celebration of the Tercentenary of Shakespeare's death.

Although this is a new book, it is old in the sense that it was published in 1987. And, it is now 'out of print'. It's condition isn't perfect - the book itself is in excellent/perfect condition but the dust jacket is a little scuffed, and there is a tear about 20mm long on the front top right hand corner. Only one copy available.
