Welsh description: Ar eu ffordd i Sydney yn Awstralia, mae Tintin, Milyn, Capten Hadoc a'r gwyddonydd penchwiban Ephraim R. Efflwfia yn derbyn gwahoddiad y cardi Laszlo Carreidas, y miliwnydd sy byth yn chwerthin, i hedfan yn ei awyren breifat.

Yn ystod y daith, mae'r awyren yn cael ei herwgipio a'i glanio ar un o ynysoedd diarffordd archipelago anferth ym moroedd Indonesia. Yno mae hen elyn Tintin, Rastapopolos, yn disgwyl amdanynt, ac yntau'n hyderus o allu dwyn perswâd ar Carreidas i ryddhau manylion ei gyfrif banc yn y Swistir. Ond llwydda Tintin a'i griw i ddianc gan ddod o hyd i loches mewn hen deml tanddaearol sy'n gartref anghysbell i ymwelwyr annisgwyl iawn.
